Athletics at TASIS Portugal

At TASIS Portugal, we believe that sport develops far more than athletic ability. It builds essential life skills, including teamwork, confidence, resilience, and strength of character.

Athletics are an important part of student life, giving students opportunities to participate, compete, grow, and proudly represent their school. Our program supports every stage of development, from introductory activities for our youngest learners to competitive teams for students in Grades 4–12.

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 3 develop fundamental skills and confidence through football, basketball, and multisports in a supportive, non-competitive environment. From Grade 4 onwards, students have opportunities to represent TASIS Portugal in age-appropriate competitive divisions.

Our core sports are basketball, football, volleyball, cross country, and track and field, with competitive seasons organized throughout the school year. As proud members of the Portugal Sports Conference (PSC) and the Lisbon Area Sports Association (LASA), TASIS Portugal teams participate in matches, tournaments, and competitions with schools across Portugal.

Through sport, we aim to develop responsible, resilient, and confident young people while nurturing a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.

“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does.”

— Nelson Mandela

Home of the Knights

The Knight is the official mascot of TASIS Portugal, representing the strength, determination, sportsmanship, and school spirit of our community.

Our student-athletes proudly compete as the TASIS Portugal Knights, and there is nothing better than seeing our community come together to support them.
