Welcome to your hub of knowledge and resources at our libraries!
The TASIS Libraries cater to the needs of students, faculty, and parents, serving as essential centers of learning that extend beyond the classrooms to support teaching and research. In addition to their academic purpose, these libraries foster collaboration, social interaction, and recreation. Dedicated to catering to a broad audience, we strive to assemble a rich array of English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French publications.
The libraries boast an impressive collection of educational resources, including 28,000 thousand print books, 400 eBooks and audiobooks, as well as various digital subscriptions such as Amplify, Learning Without Tears, Mathletics, Lexia, ED, Overdrive, PurpleMash, FathomReads, and Britannica. Managing our vast digital and print collections is made efficient by utilizing Follett Destiny, a comprehensive library management system that facilitates access to these resources and an array of digital subscriptions. The nonfiction section is organized using the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system, ensuring easy navigation and retrieval of information.

Authors Visit Program
Our Author Visit Program is crucial for fostering a vibrant literary culture within the school community. It provides students unique opportunities to engage directly with authors, gaining insights into the writing process, the inspirations behind stories, and the nuances of literary creation. These interactions can ignite students' passion for reading and writing, enhancing their appreciation for literature. Furthermore, author visits offer access to diverse cultures and perspectives, promoting an international mindset and broadening students' global awareness. These visits cultivate empathy and open-mindedness by exposing students to different cultural contexts and storytelling traditions. Our author visit program enriches the educational experience, making literature more accessible and exciting while supporting the school's mission to develop well-rounded, globally conscious individuals.

Renée Watson
June 2024
Renée Watson's visit to our school has been inspiring and empowering. In her keynote sessions, she emphasized the importance of self-discovery and self-compassion as the first steps toward changing the world. Renée encouraged us to practice listening and empathy, fostering healthy and open conversations on any topic. She reminded us that joy is a form of resistance and highlighted the value of connecting with characters in stories who might not look like us but share similar feelings and experiences. Reading, she explained, is a form of listening. Renée taught us that if we don't know who others are and what they hold inside, we cannot have courageous conversations about topics that may make us uncomfortable—and that being uncomfortable is okay.
Additionally, students wrote poetry inspired by Renée's poem "Where I'm From" from the poem collection Black Girl, You Are Atlas, published in 2024. They quickly produced beautiful poems, vividly describing their origins and capturing their cultures' sights, sounds, feelings, and textures. Her wisdom and insight have profoundly impacted our school community, inspiring us to embrace these principles daily.
